Pakistan Warns Citizens Against Travelling to Iran in New Travel Advisory

Pakistan has issued a Travel Advisory for its citizens, urging them to avoid all non-essential travel to Iran. The advisory comes amid growing safety and security concerns in the country.

The Foreign Office said the advisory aims to protect Pakistani nationals until the situation in Iran stabilises. Officials asked citizens to stay vigilant and limit unnecessary movement while in the country.

Pakistani residents in Iran have been instructed to maintain regular contact with local diplomatic missions. They are also advised to keep emergency contact numbers handy and immediately report any urgent issues.

The Foreign Office provided phone numbers for the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran and consulates in Zahedan and Mashhad. Authorities confirmed that these missions remain available to support citizens during the advisory period.

“For their safety, Pakistani nationals are advised to avoid all unnecessary travel to Iran until conditions improve,” said a spokesperson. Officials added that the Travel Advisory will be continuously reviewed as the situation develops.

The advisory comes as widespread anti-government protests continue across Iran. US President Donald Trump warned of serious consequences if protesters are violently suppressed. Meanwhile, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused demonstrators of acting as foreign agents.

Clashes in several cities have resulted in fires, street violence, and reports of casualties. According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), at least 62 people, including 48 protesters and 14 security personnel, have died since December 28.

Pakistani authorities emphasised that citizens should prioritise their safety. They are encouraged to avoid risky areas, stay informed, and follow updates from official channels.
