In the world of sports, Raza—also referred to as Chintoo—was a crucial player for the Pakistan Women’s Hockey Team. She also participated in Pakistan Railways’ departmental hockey team.

She also played women’s football for Balochistan United and was a great player.

Raza reportedly had visions of a better future when travelling by sea from Turkey to Italy. Nevertheless, the boat capsized while anchored near Crotone, killing around 200 migrants, including over 40 Pakistanis, the most of whom are said to be from Gujrat.

While Raza was the mother of a young girl, the child was not present when the accident occurred.

Syed Haider Hussain, the secretary general of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Brigadier (ret.) Khalid Khokhar, PHF Women Wing Syeda Shehla Raza, Tanzila Amir Cheema, and others have all expressed their sorrow over Raza’s tragic passing.

The Hazara community, which has frequently been the victim of violent attacks, has voiced its profound grief and outrage at the occurrence. The government has been urged by the local leaders to take action to stop such tragedies from occurring in the future.

The incident has brought attention once more to the risks that immigrants confront as they attempt to go to Europe in pursuit of a better life. In search of a brighter future, migrants frequently set out on perilous treks, risking their lives in overcrowded, unsafe boats.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
