The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced two separate squads for the upcoming series against Bangladesh. The series includes a four-day Test match between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A, as well as a two-match Test series between the senior teams of Pakistan and Bangladesh. The senior Test series will commence with the first match in Rawalpindi from August 21-25, followed by the second Test in Karachi from August 30 to September 3. This series is part of the ICC World Test Championship, where Pakistan is aiming to strengthen its position and needs to secure 7 wins out of the next 9 matches to qualify for the final.
The dates for the four-day match between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A are still to be announced. However, the travel of the Bangladesh A team to Pakistan has been postponed due to political turmoil in Bangladesh following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid’s resignation.

The Pakistan Shaheens squad, which features a mix of young talent and experienced players, will face Bangladesh A in a series that aims to highlight emerging stars. Key players such as Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan are expected to lead the team, while Shan Masood will captain the squad and Saud Shakeel has been named as the vice-captain for the World Test Championship series. The PCB has announced a 14-member squad for the series against Bangladesh A and a 17-member squad for the Test series. These matches are crucial for both teams as they look to climb the World Test Championship standings and showcase new talent on the international stage.
