Pakistan Gets Fuel Relief as Supply Secured Until April 25

Pakistan has secured petroleum supplies until April 25, ensuring stable fuel availability across the country. Officials confirmed that there is no immediate shortage, as refineries continue to operate efficiently and imports remain steady.

According to the Petroleum Division, Pakistan has strengthened its fuel supply through better planning and timely imports. Authorities said improved inventory management has played a key role in maintaining stability despite ongoing regional tensions.

Refineries in Pakistan are currently operating between 80% and 100% capacity. The Pak-Arab Refinery Company (PARCO) is running at full capacity. It holds crude oil stocks for about 15 days, while incoming shipments will extend supply coverage until April 25.

Other refineries, including National Refinery Limited (NRL) and Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL), are operating at around 80% capacity. This marks a clear improvement from earlier levels of 50% to 60%, showing better availability of crude oil.

Imports have also supported Pakistan’s fuel supply. In March, the country imported three petrol cargoes and one diesel cargo from Oman. Two more petrol shipments are expected before the end of the month, which will further strengthen reserves.

State-owned Pakistan State Oil (PSO) is also working to secure additional fuel supplies. The company is in discussions with Oman Trading International to arrange more cargoes as energy demand rises.

Officials said Pakistan’s decision to diversify import sources has helped avoid supply disruptions. The country has increased shipments from Oman and arranged alternative supplies from regional hubs such as Fujairah and Yanbu.

These steps were taken after the February 28 conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran raised concerns about global oil supply routes, especially through the Strait of Hormuz.

Officials noted that quick action helped Pakistan maintain stable fuel availability. While some regional countries face supply pressure, Pakistan continues to manage its energy needs without major disruption.
