The National Highways and Motorway Police has introduced new speed limits on motorways and national highways across Pakistan. The decision aims to reduce fuel consumption and improve energy efficiency.

Under the revised policy, different vehicle categories will follow updated speed rules. On national highways, cars and light vehicles can now travel at 80 km/h. The previous limit was 100 km/h. Heavy and passenger vehicles must now follow a 65 km/h limit, reduced from 80 km/h.
