Pakistan dominated Sri Lanka with a 9-0 victory in their second group match of the Under-18 Hockey Asia Cup 2025, held in Dazhou, China.
In this Group A clash, Pakistan launched a powerful attack early. Abdullah Awan opened the scoring in the 4th minute. Zubair Latif added another goal just a minute later. Ehsam Haider then converted a penalty corner in the 7th minute, and Atif made it 4-0 before the end of the first quarter.

Pakistan maintained their momentum in the second quarter. Ehsam Haider struck twice more, both from penalty corners, securing a strong 6-0 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, Adeel scored back-to-back goals, and Atif Ali added the ninth in the 44th minute. The team’s defense also stood firm, restricting Sri Lanka to just two penalty corners and no goals.
This win places Pakistan at the top of Group A in the Hockey Asia Cup 2025. Their next match is set for Tuesday against Bangladesh.
Earlier, Pakistan had thrashed Hong Kong in their opening game. Despite arriving in China shortly before the match due to visa issues and having no time to train, the team managed an impressive 8-0 win.
With two commanding victories and 17 goals scored, Pakistan is emerging as a strong contender in the tournament.
