The decision comes after uncertainty over the team’s participation due to strained relations between the two countries.
The government made the decision based on the recommendation of a high-powered committee led by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. The committee sought guarantees from the ICC regarding the team’s security, and after receiving assurances, Pakistan decided to fulfill its international sports-related obligations.

The decision was also seen as a constructive and responsible approach towards India’s refusal to send its cricket team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. However, Pakistan expressed deep concerns about the security of its cricket team during the visit and conveyed them to the ICC and Indian authorities.
The Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be held in India in October and November, with the much-awaited match between Pakistan and India set to take place on October 14 at the Ahmedabad stadium in Gujarat, the home state of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
