Eid Miladun-Nabi (SAW) Celebrations Across Pakistan
ISLAMABAD — Muslims in Pakistan and around the world are celebrating Eid Miladun-Nabi (SAW) with vibrant and traditional festivities today.
The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in provincial capitals to honor the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Streets, roads, markets, and buildings nationwide have been adorned with colorful lights and decorations.
Organized Activities and Events
State and religious organizations have planned a variety of activities, including processions, seminars, and conferences to mark the occasion. These events aim to reflect the significance of the day and foster community spirit.

To ensure safety and order, extensive security arrangements have been put in place:
- Punjab: Over 55,000 police officers will supervise 2,467 processions and 1,581 gatherings. The Counter-Terrorism Department will provide additional support through surveillance and monitoring, especially in sensitive areas.
- Islamabad: More than 2,000 police officers will be deployed for the main procession and related events. Security measures include walk-through gates, full-body searches, and snipers stationed on rooftops. Several roads along the procession route will be closed to manage the large crowds.
- Rawalpindi: 5,000 police officers and 454 traffic officers will oversee 108 processions. A special traffic plan is in place to accommodate the celebrations.
- Sindh: A ban on pillion riding has been imposed to enhance security. In Karachi, two major processions will see the deployment of 4,716 personnel, including senior officers, constables, and female officers. Restrictions on weapons, vehicles, and the participation of women and children in processions will also be enforced.
