Pakistan Blocks Over 71,000 CNICs in the Last Five Years

NADRA Blocks Over 71,000 Identity Cards in the Last Five Years

ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has blocked 71,500 identity cards over the past five years, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) leading the list.

According to media reports, the highest number of blocked ID cards came from KP, totaling 25,981. Following KP, Balochistan had 20,583 blocked cards, while Punjab accounted for 13,564. Other regions with blocked cards include Sindh with 9,677, Islamabad with 1,370, Gilgit-Baltistan with 228, and Azad Kashmir with 446.

In the same period, 44,460 cards were unblocked after verification, and investigations are ongoing for 13,618 blocked cards. The measures reflect NADRA’s ongoing efforts to ensure the integrity and accuracy of identity documentation in the country.
