The Pakistan Army has warned India of a “swift and destructive response” to any act of aggression, cautioning that New Delhi’s hostile rhetoric threatens regional stability.
The statement came after the 272nd Corps Commanders’ Conference at the General Headquarters, chaired by Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, according to the ISPR. The forum expressed grave concern over India’s “irresponsible and provocative statements,” describing them as an attempt to stir war hysteria for political purposes.
Military leaders vowed to counter any Indian misadventure with a decisive retaliation, stating that any “imaginary new normal” would be met with a new and stronger response.
The conference also reviewed Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts, internal security challenges, and operational readiness. The army reaffirmed its resolve to eliminate Indian-backed terror proxies and dismantle networks undermining national stability.
The remarks followed recent claims by Indian Air Force Chief Amar Preet Singh, who alleged that India shot down five Pakistani jets during the May border clashes—an assertion Pakistan dismissed as baseless.
The meeting also lauded the new Pakistan–Saudi Strategic Defence Agreement, terming it a milestone for regional security. Commanders reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Kashmir and Palestine, reiterating the call for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders.
