Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Collaboration on Quran Translation and Publishing
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at expanding efforts related to Quran translation and publishing. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs were behind the initiative, marking a significant step in religious collaboration between the two nations.

Key Areas of Cooperation
The MOU, signed by Saudi Minister for Islamic Affairs, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, and Pakistani officials, covers a wide range of initiatives. These include:
- Quran translation and publishing efforts
- Training of preachers and imams
- Mosque construction projects
The agreement reflects a joint commitment to advancing the availability and understanding of the Holy Quran, with a focus on expanding its reach and accessibility.
Broader Bilateral Relations
In addition to the Quran-focused agreement, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia also signed a customs cooperation agreement to bolster bilateral trade. The agreement is expected to improve administrative efficiency by sharing expertise and streamlining trade processes, benefitting both countries.
Strengthening Ties
At a recent conference in Riyadh, which hosted over 70 workshops and sessions, nearly 90 local and international organizations participated. Pakistani officials praised the growing strength of ties between the two Islamic nations, noting that Saudi Arabia is poised to make significant investments in Pakistan. This, they believe, will solidify and expand the cooperation between the two countries.
