Pakistan and India Swap Nuclear Installation and Facility Lists

On Wednesday, Pakistan and India exchanged lists of their nuclear installations and facilities, as outlined in the Agreement on Prohibition of Attacks against Nuclear Installations and Facilities, the Foreign Office stated.

The agreement, signed on December 31, 1988, requires both countries to share details of their nuclear installations annually on January 1. It officially came into effect on January 27, 1991, with exchanges beginning on January 1, 1992.

In line with the agreement, Pakistan handed its list to a representative of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Meanwhile, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs provided its list to a representative of Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi.
