Pakistan and India to Face off Again in Asia Cup on Sunday

Pakistan and India will meet again on Sunday, September 21, in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai, after Pakistan’s 41-run win over the UAE.

The much-anticipated clash comes with added tension following a controversy in their earlier group-stage encounter, when Indian players walked off without shaking hands after a seven-wicket victory. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha attempted to approach them, but the team had already exited, sparking criticism and accusations of unsportsmanlike conduct.

Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav defended the move, citing political directives and calling the team’s performance “a perfect reply.”

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) lodged a protest with the ICC, accusing match referee Andy Pycroft of instructing captains to skip the customary handshake. The ICC dismissed the complaint, confirming Pycroft would continue in his role.

With Pakistan seeking redemption and India looking to maintain momentum, Sunday’s showdown is expected to be one of the most heated contests of the tournament.
