No Visa Needed As Pakistan And Bangladesh Sign Major Travel Deal

Pakistan and Bangladesh have signed an important agreement allowing visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic and official passports. The deal was finalized during a meeting in Dhaka between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Bangladesh’s Home Minister Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

This new visa exemption will make it easier for government officials and institutional staff from both countries to travel without the hassle of obtaining a visa. The agreement aims to promote smoother official visits and strengthen ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

During the visit, Minister Naqvi was welcomed with a guard of honour at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Dhaka. Both ministers described the visa deal as a positive step towards enhancing bilateral relations.

Beyond visa facilitation, the two countries also agreed to increase cooperation in areas of internal security. This includes working together on anti-terrorism, anti-narcotics, and human trafficking issues. The agreement also highlights plans for improved police training and knowledge exchange.

To oversee these efforts, Pakistan and Bangladesh will form a joint committee. Pakistan’s Federal Secretary for Interior, Khurram Agha, will lead the Pakistani side. The committee will ensure effective coordination and implementation of agreed security measures.

A Bangladeshi delegation is set to visit Islamabad soon. They will review Pakistan’s Safe City Project and visit the National Police Academy. This visit will help Bangladesh learn about Pakistan’s law enforcement modernization.

This visa-free travel agreement reflects the growing partnership between Pakistan and Bangladesh. It promises easier official travel and closer cooperation on security and governance.
