Pakistan’s national hockey players are angry over unpaid dues from the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF). The players say the situation has reached a breaking point.
Senior team members have spoken privately about months of unpaid allowances. They also say the PHF is not responding to their concerns.
Sources confirm that players are still waiting for payments from the FIH Nations Hockey Cup in Malaysia. Pakistan won a silver medal at the tournament, but players have not received any of their daily allowances.
“The federation kept us in the dark. Now, they won’t even reply,” a player said.
Each player is reportedly owed about PKR 500,000. This amount includes unpaid allowances for both international duty and training camps.
PHF rules state that players should get PKR 30,000 per day for international matches. For domestic training camps, they should get PKR 3,000 per day. None of these payments have been made so far.
Captain Ammad Butt has promised to raise the issue with higher authorities. He assured teammates that he would push for transparency and action.
Despite the unpaid dues, players continue to perform on the field. However, their frustration is growing due to the silence from PHF officials.
PHF has had financial problems before. But this delay, especially after a major international tournament, has hit players hard. Some are now thinking about stronger steps if the issue continues.
Pakistan hockey is slowly rebuilding its reputation. But setbacks like this can harm that progress. For a sport that once brought national glory, this crisis highlights deep problems within the system.
