Pak Forces Ramp Up Border Security Against Afghan Infiltration

Pakistani security forces have escalated border operations due to militants’ attempts to cross the Pak-Afghan border from the neighboring nation, according to ISPR. A statement released by the military’s media emphasized the need for Kabul to manage its border effectively and prevent terrorists from using its territory.

The armed forces observed a significant increase in terrorist attacks originating from Afghan territory, with terrorists seeking to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border to target both security forces and civilians.

Security forces have been conducting operations in various areas along the border, including the Sambaza region in Zhob District, Balochistan, since April 21, 2024. Operations over the past month have resulted in the elimination of at least 29 terrorists.

ISPR highlighted a May 14 intelligence-based operation during which Major Babar Khan was martyred while valiantly battling terrorists. Despite the loss, security forces remain resolute in securing the borders and safeguarding citizens from terrorism.

Pakistan has consistently urged the Interim Afghan Government to enhance border management on their side and fulfill its obligations by preventing terrorists from launching attacks on Pakistan from Afghan soil.
