The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has initiated a large-scale flood relief operation in Gilgit-Baltistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Wednesday.
Despite harsh weather and challenging mountainous terrain, a PAF C-130 aircraft transported seven tons of dry rations, essential food items, and life-saving medicines from PAF Base Nur Khan to Gilgit. These supplies will be distributed in remote flood-affected valleys in coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), ensuring aid reaches families isolated due to damaged communication lines.
Alongside delivering relief goods, PAF teams also evacuated 75 stranded individuals from disaster-hit regions as part of the operation. This timely evacuation highlights the air force’s swift humanitarian response during the crisis.
The relief mission is part of a broader nationwide emergency campaign, reflecting the Pakistan Armed Forces’ continued dedication to protecting lives in the wake of natural disasters. In the coming days, PAF aircraft and ground teams will remain actively involved in providing food, medicines, shelter, and medical assistance to vulnerable communities.
The prompt and determined efforts of the Pakistan Air Force have given hope to flood-affected families in Gilgit-Baltistan, reaffirming the military’s resolve to support the nation in difficult times.
