Pakistan is experiencing severe disruptions in flights operations due to the ongoing tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States. The escalating regional conflict has significantly impacted both domestic and international air travel across the country.
Over the past three days, more than 500 flights have been cancelled, leaving thousands of passengers stranded at various airports. These cancellations include both passenger and cargo flights, creating major challenges for travelers and businesses alike. The sudden suspension has caused inconvenience to people who had planned urgent travel or important business trips.
According to data from the Pakistan Airport Authority, flights operating to and from multiple airports have been heavily affected. The restrictions and airspace closures in several countries have forced airlines to suspend or reroute their services. As a result, air cargo flights have also been halted, disrupting the transportation of essential goods, including food supplies and other daily necessities.
Authorities have stated that the timeline for the resumption of normal flights operations remains uncertain. Currently, only flights to Saudi Arabia are reportedly operating, while other international routes remain suspended. If the geopolitical situation worsens, further interruptions in air traffic are expected.
The ongoing crisis has also caused financial losses for travel agents. Many pilgrims planning to travel for Umrah are delaying their bookings due to uncertainty in flights availability. Some passengers who booked flights via Dubai are facing refund issues, as air tickets can be refunded but hotel reservations cannot, leading to additional financial burdens.
Travel industry experts warn that prolonged disruption in flights operations could result in significant economic losses for airlines and travel agencies.
