Over 14,000 people across Turkey were injured while attempting to slaughter animals on the first day of Eid ul Azha, according to the country’s Health Minister.
In a Friday statement, the minister reported that 14,372 individuals were treated in hospitals nationwide due to injuries during the sacrificial process.

Ankara recorded 1,049 cases, Istanbul 753, and Konya 655.
The minister advised citizens to use trained butchers to prevent such incidents.
Nearly 16,000 people were injured during Eid celebrations last year as well.
