Will the Government Allow Imran Khan Meetings with Family and Doctors

The Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, has urged the federal government to allow Imran Khan meetings with doctors and family members. He said this step is necessary to stop rumors and misinformation about the PTI founder’s health.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, Achakzai criticized the government for delaying decisions regarding Imran Khan meetings. He emphasized that prolonging the issue only fuels speculation and public concern, and the matter should be resolved quickly.

Achakzai also welcomed the meeting between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad. He said such bilateral engagements help improve relations between the government and opposition parties. Dialogue, he added, is essential for political stability.

Addressing security issues, the Opposition leader commented on recent attacks in Balochistan. He said, “Everyone will have to sit together and decide on the Balochistan issue.” He criticized the media for discussing trivial matters, such as cricket, while major attacks went largely unreported.

He also questioned the effectiveness of Pakistan’s intelligence agencies, noting that large-scale terrorist attacks occurred in 12 cities without timely action. “If they knew about these attacks, why didn’t they stop the terrorists?” Achakzai asked. He demanded that those responsible for security failures resign immediately.

The Opposition leader stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in both political and security matters. He urged the government to take prompt action to prevent future incidents and restore public trust in national institutions.
