OpenAI has recently released a ChatGPT app exclusively for iOS users, which can be downloaded and installed for free. This app makes it easier to interact with the bot while on the go, while also incorporating a number of impressive features.

One notable feature is the inclusion of voice input, which makes use of OpenAI’s open-source Whisper speech recognition model. This integration adds another option to the chatting experience by allowing you to interact with the bot using your voice.

Furthermore, the app syncs your chat history across multiple platforms, including ChatGPT’s web version and other connected devices, ensuring a consistent and unified user experience. This means you can continue working while also keeping track of all previous queries.

ChatGPT Plus subscribers get access to the enhanced GPT-4 version, early access to upcoming features, and faster response times, just like the web version.

iOS users in the United States can currently download the app from the Apple App Store, and it will be available in other countries soon. Android users can expect the app to be available in a similar time frame.

Earlier this week, Open AI CEO Sam Altman testified before the US Congress, calling for state regulation of AI.

The executive said:

We think that regulatory intervention by governments will be critical to mitigating the risks of increasingly powerful models. I think the US should lead here and do things first, but to be effective we do need something global.
