Married Woman Sold by In-Law, Raped for Month in Okara

OKARA – A 20-year-old married woman was allegedly sold by her husband’s family members to a brothel group in Khanewal for Rs50,000, where she was raped for a month.

The incident occurred within the Saddar Police Station limits. Reports state the victim’s father-in-law and brother-in-law were behind the sale. She managed to escape and return home, after which police registered a case on the complaint of her husband. The woman, mother of two, identified the culprits, leading to the arrest of one suspect, while another remains at large.

In a separate case, police arrested a man accused of raping a university student under a false marriage promise. The suspect allegedly recorded objectionable videos to blackmail her and her family. Identified as Abdul Rehman, he faces charges after the victim lodged a complaint, with the matter now under the Gender Cell’s investigation.

Meanwhile, in Bahawalpur, an 11-year-old girl was reportedly raped while returning from madrassa. The accused took her to nearby fields before assaulting her. Police have registered a case and shifted the victim to Victoria Hospital while efforts continue to arrest the suspect.
