Ogra Announces Gas Price Hike for Captive Power Plants
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has announced an increase in gas prices for captive power plants, effective from February 1. According to a notification issued on Sunday, the gas price for captive power plants has been raised by Rs500, bringing the new price to Rs3,500 per mmBtu.

Despite the increase for captive power plants, gas prices for domestic consumers, special roti tandoors, and commercial users will remain unchanged. Additionally, the gas prices for CNG, cement, and fertilizer sectors have been maintained at their current rates.
The price hike for captive power plants was approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) the previous day, reflecting ongoing adjustments in the energy sector.
