Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (PSX: OGDC) has announced the commencement of production at the exploratory well Baloch-2, located in the Sembar formation of the Sinjhoro block in District Sanghar, Sindh.
Utilizing its in-house expertise, OGDC successfully delineated, drilled, and tested the well, which has reached a depth of 3,920 meters. Currently, Baloch-2 is producing 350 barrels per day (BPD) of oil and 5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. The production is linked to the Sinjhoro Processing Plant, with gas being injected into the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) network.

This project is a collaborative effort involving OGDC (holding a 76 percent working interest), Orient Petroleum Inc. (19 percent), and GHPL (5 percent). The well’s operation aligns with OGDC’s commitment to fast-tracking exploration, drilling, and production initiatives to enhance national energy security and contribute to Pakistan’s sustainable development.
