Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti emphatically asserts that there will be no concessions regarding the repatriation of undocumented foreign individuals, including Afghans, as the deadline for voluntary departure is set for October 31.
During a press conference, the minister dismissed the notion that this action exclusively targets Afghan nationals, clarifying that all foreign individuals residing in Pakistan without proper legal documentation will be subject to repatriation. He underscored the government’s efforts to encourage voluntary returns to their respective home countries, noting that families of illegal immigrants are allowed to carry a maximum of Rs50,000 in currency.

Bugti mentioned that plans are being finalized for cases where the sum held by illegal foreign nationals surpasses Rs50,000. He further explained that dedicated centers have been established nationwide to temporarily house those who do not comply with the deadline, ensuring that all such individuals receive food and medical assistance before their repatriation.
The minister highlighted the government’s commitment to treating women, children, and elderly illegal immigrants with respect, while emphasizing that the state has completed geo-fencing to prevent evading authorities.
Bugti also issued a stern warning to Pakistani citizens facilitating illegal immigrants, cautioning them that those involved in such activities will face legal consequences.
