The ongoing case involving renowned Pakistani scriptwriter Khalilur Rehman Qamar has seen significant developments, with Judge Khalid Arshad of Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court sending nine suspects to jail on judicial remand. The suspects are involved in what has been described as a “honey trap” case. During the recent court proceedings, the investigating officer confirmed that no further physical remand of the suspects was necessary.
The incident dates back to July 15, 2024, when Qamar was allegedly abducted and robbed in Lahore after being lured under the pretense of discussing a drama project at the home of Amna Arooj. Qamar reported the incident to the police on July 21, following his release after a ransom payment.

According to Qamar’s lawyer, he was abducted by armed men during the meeting. However, the narrative took a twist when Amna Arooj’s lawyer presented a different version of events. According to Amna’s legal team, Qamar’s manager initially contacted her with a professional proposal, but the interaction reportedly became personal. Qamar allegedly made demands during a subsequent meeting, arriving intoxicated and pressuring Amna for a physical relationship, threatening to leak compromising photos if she refused.
The case grew more complex when Hasan Shah, identified as the alleged mastermind, reportedly kidnapped both Amna and Qamar. However, the exact details of what transpired during their captivity remain unclear.
Adding to the controversy, Amna later accused the police of torturing her and forcing her to falsely describe the incident as a honey trap. The case continues to unfold, with the judicial remand of the suspects indicating that the investigation is still ongoing.
