The city administration has launched a crackdown on wedding halls violating the Punjab Marriage Functions Act 2016. On Monday, nine halls were sealed and 13 fined for breaching the one-dish policy and exceeding permitted event hours.

During the operation, three venues—including a farmhouse in Saddar Tehsil—were closed for hosting late-night functions. In Model Town, two halls near Wapda Town were sealed for major violations, while two more in Allama Iqbal Tehsil were shut for ignoring food and timing rules.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy, directing officials to immediately act against any violators. He emphasized that the campaign aims to uphold public order, warning that no wedding hall owner is exempt from fines or sealing for breaking the law.
