New York City pays Glorious Tribute to Pakistan’s national poet Allama Iqbal

In honour of Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Iqbal, the Queens borough of New York City has named a road in his honour. The street is now known as “Allama Iqbal Avenue.”

The new road name was officially unveiled at a ceremony in Queens’ Richmond Hill district. Many people turned out for the ceremony, chanting “Pakistan zindabad” (Long live Pakistan) and waving flags.

This ceremony represents Pakistani-Americans’ successful efforts, with the American-Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG), a non-profit organisation, playing a vital role.

Ali Rashid, the leader of APAG, expressed his delight and happiness, viewing this devotion as a valuable gift for both the Pakistani-American community and Pakistan itself, especially on Independence Day.
