New Strategies Unveiled in National Security Meeting

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is leading a crucial meeting of the Apex Committee of the National Action Plan, focused on reviewing the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) for 2021 and setting fresh goals for the country’s security and law enforcement. The session, held in Islamabad, includes key officials such as federal ministers, chief ministers, and security heads, including Army Chief General Asim Munir.

The committee is assessing the progress of NAP’s implementation and aims to establish new strategies for the upcoming year. The government is committed to maintaining national peace and security, with the meeting highlighting a renewed focus on countering terrorism and extremism. Previous initiatives, such as Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, are being reinforced with the aim to eradicate these threats comprehensively.

Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz, is a crucial step in this fight. The committee also approved new measures to enhance the security of Chinese nationals in Pakistan, issuing updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure their protection. The fight against extremism is seen as vital for the nation’s stability, and the government is determined to tackle it head-on.
