The Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has confirmed the discovery of new gas reserves in the Jamshoro district of Sindh, marking a significant boost to the country’s domestic energy sector.

According to initial exploration data, the newly found reserves were discovered during drilling operations at an exploration well in the region. Tests have shown promising gas flow rates, indicating the potential for commercial production in the coming months.

The discovery is expected to help reduce Pakistan’s dependence on imported energy and improve local supply stability. Officials stated that this find highlights the untapped potential of Sindh’s geological structure, which continues to play a key role in the country’s energy production.

Technical teams are currently conducting further analysis to determine the full capacity and commercial viability of the field. The PPL management expressed optimism that the new discovery will contribute to meeting the growing energy demands of both households and industries.

Energy experts believe that such discoveries can help strengthen Pakistan’s economy by saving foreign exchange reserves and promoting energy self-sufficiency. Authorities have emphasized the need to continue exploration efforts to secure long-term energy stability.

This latest discovery in Jamshoro adds to a series of successful exploration activities by PPL across Sindh and Balochistan in recent years.
