Strategically located within a PSO fuel station, the site is designed to integrate EV charging within existing fuel networks, making the transition to electric mobility more convenient for both new and existing EV owners.

Expanding Urban EV Coverage

The I-8 Markaz installation is part of a broader push to expand EV charging facilities in Pakistan’s major cities. By leveraging public-private partnerships, stakeholders are working to accelerate the country’s transition toward sustainable and clean transportation solutions.

BYD’s Charging Network in Pakistan

With this latest addition, BYD has extended its EV charging footprint to several high-traffic locations, including:

  • Emporium Mall, Lahore
  • Packages Mall, Lahore
  • PSO Station, E-11, Islamabad
  • DHA Phase 6, Karachi (near Sea View)
  • Emporium Charging Bay near Nishat Hotel, Lahore

Each location has been strategically selected based on residential density, commercial activity, and user convenience.

Aligning with National EV Policy

The project is aligned with the goals of Pakistan’s National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP), which aims to cut carbon emissions and increase EV adoption in the country. A well-developed charging infrastructure is considered essential for promoting EV use, particularly in urban hubs like Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.

As EV demand continues to grow, initiatives like this one are crucial in building a sustainable future and achieving Pakistan’s environmental and energy efficiency targets.
