Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has clarified that Israel is no longer pursuing regime change in Iran, marking a significant shift in the country’s approach toward its regional rival. In a recent interview with Israeli media, Netanyahu stressed that toppling the Iranian government is not among Israel’s current objectives.
“Our primary goal is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons,” he stated. He also identified Iran’s missile development program as Israel’s second key concern. “Halting Iran’s missile program is our second objective,” he noted.

Netanyahu emphasized that while Israel remains watchful of Iran’s military capabilities and regional influence, its focus has moved toward strategic containment rather than direct political intervention. “Regime change in Iran is not part of our agenda,” he reiterated.
This statement marks a recalibration of Israeli policy at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East, signaling a preference for preventing escalation rather than provoking further instability.
