The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has officially reduced electricity tariffs across Pakistan as part of the monthly fuel adjustment. According to NEPRA’s latest notification, electricity prices in Karachi have been slashed by Rs4.03 per unit, while consumers in other parts of the country will benefit from a reduction of 50 paisa per unit.
Separate notifications were issued for K-Electric and other distribution companies. Karachi’s rate reduction applies to the April 2025 adjustment, while the rest of the country’s adjustment pertains to May 2025.

NEPRA confirmed that this reduction will reflect in consumers’ electricity bills for the month of July. K-Electric had originally requested a Rs4.69 cut, whereas the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had proposed a slight 10 paisa increase for other regions.
This latest revision by NEPRA is aimed at easing the burden of electricity costs on consumers amidst rising inflation and fuel price volatility.
