The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) approved a Rs3.76 per unit increase in electricity prices on Saturday, due to the quarterly fuel cost adjustment.
This decision will impose an additional Rs46.61 billion burden on electricity consumers, who are already facing high prices.

The increased amount will be recovered over three months – June, July, and August. Specifically, the government will collect Rs1.90 per unit in June, and 93 paisas per unit in both July and August. This power tariff hike is part of the third quarterly adjustment.
Meanwhile, the previous day saw a reduction in fuel prices, with petrol prices decreasing by Rs4.74 per litre and diesel by Rs3.80 per litre.
