The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned that Islamabad, Rawalpindi, the Potohar region, and parts of upper Punjab are likely to experience cloudy weather, scattered rain, and windstorms between June 13 and 16.

According to an impact-based advisory from NDMA’s National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC), the public is urged to stay alert and use the NDMA app for real-time updates, as extreme heat is expected to grip most of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, and parts of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) from June 13 to 18.

A weak western weather system is forecast to affect upper parts of the country from June 13–16, influencing conditions across multiple regions.

In Punjab, the hot weather is expected to continue throughout the week. While Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will mostly remain hot, scattered rain and windstorms are likely in districts such as Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Mansehra, Peshawar, Swat, and others.

Sindh and Balochistan will predominantly face hot and dry conditions.

In GB and AJK, isolated rain is possible in areas like Astore, Skardu, Hunza, Shighar, Bagh, and Neelum Valley between June 13–16, but overall hot weather will prevail.

NDMA, through NEOC, is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with local authorities for preparedness and response.

People in heat-affected areas are advised to take precautions: stay hydrated, avoid going outdoors during peak heat (11 AM to 4 PM), wear light clothing, and look after vulnerable groups. Children and pets should never be left in parked vehicles.

Tourists heading to northern areas are also urged to stay updated with local forecasts and follow safety guidelines.
