Nashra Sandhu Makes Historic Milestone for Pakistan in Women’s World Cup

Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu etched her name in history during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 with a record-breaking performance against Australia.

The 27-year-old claimed three key wickets — Ellyse Perry, Annabel Sutherland, and Tahlia McGrath — in Wednesday’s clash, helping Pakistan stay competitive against the defending champions.

With this feat, Nashra became Pakistan’s all-time leading wicket-taker in Women’s World Cup history, surpassing former captain Sana Mir’s tally of 17 wickets in 18 matches. Nashra now holds 20 wickets in just 16 World Cup appearances.

Her remarkable performance also saw her equal Nida Dar’s record for the second-highest number of wickets in Women’s ODIs for Pakistan, both standing at 108 wickets. Impressively, Nashra achieved this milestone in 78 matches, while Nida reached the same mark in 112.

Sana Mir continues to top the overall ODI wicket chart for Pakistan with 151 wickets in 120 games.

Nashra’s consistency and skill have cemented her status as one of Pakistan’s finest women cricketers, inspiring a new generation of female athletes in the country.
