Naqvi Announces New Reward for Franchises in PSL 2026

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced a new reward structure for franchises participating in the 2026 Pakistan Super League. The initiative aims to encourage both performance and contribution to cricket development.

The champion franchise will receive US $500,000, while the runner-up will get US $300,000. A new category rewards the best franchise contributing to cricket development with US $200,000.

Naqvi said these rewards are in addition to regular prize money. He emphasised the importance of growing Pakistan cricket and supporting grassroots programmes.

Franchises will be evaluated not only on on-field success but also on efforts in youth development, talent scouting, and cricket promotion. This marks a shift towards rewarding holistic contributions.

Officials believe the new structure will make PSL more competitive and encourage long-term investment in cricket infrastructure.

The announcement has been welcomed by teams and fans, with expectations of exciting matches and stronger participation in the upcoming season.
