The decision was made in response to repeated concerns about the management committee’s handling of non-essential expenses.

In a landmark move, the federal government directed the Auditor General of Pakistan to conduct a thorough audit of the PCB’s operations, with a focus on Najam Sethi’s term.

In addition, the Auditor General has ordered an immediate examination of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8).

The audit will thoroughly examine the expenses made under Najam Sethi’s tenure, with the goal of ensuring transparency and accountability.

The Auditor General’s audit will run from December 22, 2022, through June 20, 2023, with no room for error

Furthermore, the audit authorities will look into the allowances received by the temporary management committee members, including Najam Sethi.

The federal government’s action demonstrates its commitment to maintaining financial integrity within the PCB and ensuring appropriate financial management.

The federal government formed the interim management committee in December 2022 in response to many concerns about the PCB’s management practises.

These accusations aroused worries about non-essential expenditures, necessitating a thorough inquiry.
