NAB Recovers Over Rs547 Billion During First Half Of 2025

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) announced a record recovery of more than Rs547 billion in the first six months of 2025. This recovery marks a significant success in the bureau’s ongoing fight against corruption across Pakistan.

According to NAB’s latest performance report, movable and immovable assets worth Rs33.532 billion were handed over to federal and provincial departments and financial institutions. The bureau recovered Rs453 billion during the April to June quarter alone, which contributed heavily to the total recovery for the first half of the year.

NAB also returned funds to thousands of victims of fraud cases. So far, 12,611 victims have received compensation from the recovered assets. For example, Rs3.2 billion recovered in the Eden case was distributed among 11,880 victims. Similarly, Rs3 billion from a cheating case in Rawalpindi was allocated to 17,214 affected individuals.

Significant asset recoveries took place in several regions of Pakistan. NAB Lahore recovered eight properties worth Rs9.3 billion linked to the Pak Arab Housing case. Meanwhile, NAB Rawalpindi handed over land valued at Rs29 billion in Islamabad to the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

In Sindh, NAB Sukkur recovered 127 kanals and 15 marla of land belonging to the Sindh Education and Literacy Department. It also recovered land worth Rs25 billion owned by the National Highway Authority.

These recoveries underline NAB’s strong commitment to combating corruption and ensuring that stolen assets are returned to the rightful owners. The bureau continues to work actively to protect public resources and uphold accountability across the country.
