In yet another shocking display of elite impunity, Musa Maneka — son of Khawar Maneka and former First Lady Bushra Bibi — has been arrested for allegedly shooting a domestic worker, identified as Ali Bahadur, reportedly because he failed to finish his duties on time.

Bahadur suffered serious injuries and required emergency treatment. Eyewitnesses claim Musa initially refused to allow medical help, delaying the victim’s access to critical care.

Law enforcement arrived swiftly at the scene, where Musa appeared calm and smiling despite the grave allegations. According to the investigating officer, the accused was in possession of multiple firearms at the time of arrest.

This incident has sparked public outrage and reignited concerns about the unchecked power and behavior of Pakistan’s elite. Musa’s arrest has put renewed spotlight on the influence and entitlement associated with political families. The silence of Khawar Maneka — a former government official and Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband — has further inflamed public sentiment.

District Police Officer Javed Chadhar assured the public that justice would be served, stating that “no one is above the law” and that the case would be pursued without bias.

The event follows closely on the heels of another horrifying case in Lahore where a 10-year-old domestic worker was tortured to death, raising alarm over the repeated abuse of domestic staff across the country.

As public demand for accountability grows, questions are being raised not only about Musa’s actions but also the role of his upbringing. Critics are calling for reflection on the parenting and environment that may have influenced such behavior, particularly pointing to Bushra Bibi, now married to former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Authorities continue their investigation as the nation watches closely.
