A tragedy unfolded in Sohdra, Wazirabad, where a mother lost her life while saving her young son from the raging floodwaters of the Chenab River.
Local reports said strong currents have caused severe destruction across the area. When her son slipped into the river, the mother immediately jumped in to rescue him. She managed to reach and save him, but the powerful waters swept her away.
The child, who witnessed the heartbreaking moment, recalled how his mother rushed to his aid but could not survive the torrent.
The incident has left the community grieving and serves as a painful reminder of the human toll of Punjab’s ongoing floods.
