Monsoon rains disrupt PIA flight schedules across Pakistan

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has experienced widespread disruptions to its flight schedule due to adverse weather conditions, resulting in the cancellation and delay of numerous flights across the country.

Eight flights between Islamabad and Karachi have been canceled, along with 35 other flights facing delays. Among the canceled flights are PK-301 and PK-368 from Karachi to Islamabad, as well as PK-455 and PK-456 from Karachi to Skardu. Additionally, four flights between Islamabad and Gilgit (PK-601, PK-602, PK-605, and PK-606) have also been canceled.

Several international flights have been delayed by one and a half to two and a half hours, including those from Karachi to destinations such as Dubai, Damascus, Muscat, Madinah, Jeddah, and Baghdad. In particular, the departure of PIA flight PK 301 from Islamabad was delayed by one and a half hours, while PK 302 to Lahore is now set to depart three hours behind schedule at 11 a.m. Flights between Lahore and Karachi, including PK 304 and PK 305, are delayed by one and a half hours, and the Lahore-Dubai flight PK 335 will depart an hour late.

Other significant delays include the Lahore-Muscat flight PK 229, delayed by four hours to 2:00 p.m., and the Lahore-Bahrain flight PK 189, now scheduled to depart at 11:30 p.m., five hours later than planned. Additionally, flights from Lahore to Skardu, Jeddah, Dubai, and Riyadh are also delayed by two to two and a half hours.

Further delays affect upcoming flights from Lahore to Sharjah, Dubai, Kuwait City, Jeddah, and Muscat, which will be delayed by one and a half hours. Flights from Islamabad to Muscat and Kuala Lumpur are also delayed by two and a half and three hours, respectively. The Dammam flight PK 245 is running two hours late, and PIA’s Sialkot-Dammam flight PK 243 will now depart two and a half hours behind schedule at 12:30 p.m. Additionally, a foreign airline flight, SV 795, from Multan to Jeddah, has been delayed by two and a half hours due to the weather conditions.
