The annual Hajj pilgrimage has commenced, with nearly two million Muslims from around the globe arriving in Mina, marking the beginning of one of Islam’s most sacred journeys. The air resonates with chants of “Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik,” as pilgrims don the white ihram garments and take their first steps toward spiritual fulfillment.
Over 88,000 Pakistani pilgrims under the government scheme and more than 27,000 from private operators have joined the pilgrimage. They were transported to Mina from residential areas in Makkah, including Aziziyah and Batha Quraish, ahead of the critical rites that will unfold over the coming days.

The spiritual peak will come with Wuquf-e-Arafat on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, where pilgrims will gather on the plains of Arafat, listen to the Hajj sermon, and offer combined Zuhr and Asr prayers. After sunset, they will move to Muzdalifah to spend the night under the stars, collect pebbles, and prepare for the symbolic stoning of the devil.
Saudi authorities have mobilized over 250,000 personnel and employed AI and drones to ensure smooth crowd management and safety. The flawless operation saw over 8,000 buses successfully transport worshippers to Mina in a serene and organized manner.
This year’s Hajj features 1.47 million international pilgrims, alongside thousands of Saudi nationals, including 2,443 guests of King Salman from over 100 nations. As the journey progresses, the unity, devotion, and immense spiritual atmosphere continue to define this profound Islamic tradition.
