Bangladesh’s standout all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been awarded the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for April 2025, following his outstanding performances in the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe.

Miraz edged out fellow nominees Blessing Muzarabani and Ben Sears to claim the prestigious honor, marking his first ICC Player of the Month award. He is now the third Bangladeshi cricketer to earn this recognition, joining the ranks of Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan.

The 27-year-old impressed with both bat and ball, scoring 116 runs at an average of 38.66 and taking 15 wickets at just 11.86.

Miraz also played a key role in Bangladesh’s win over Afghanistan during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, where he was named Player of the Match for his all-round display.

Reacting to the award, Miraz expressed his gratitude and excitement:
“It’s an incredible honor to receive the ICC Men’s Player of the Month. Being recognized globally means a great deal to me,” he said. “This takes me back to being named Player of the Tournament at the 2016 U19 World Cup — moments like these inspire me to keep striving for excellence.”

He dedicated the award to his teammates, coaches, and fans, adding, “This recognition is a huge motivation for me to continue performing for Bangladesh and bringing pride to the nation.”
