MDCAT exam in Punjab scheduled for October 26, 2025

The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in Punjab has been scheduled for October 26, according to an official notification.

A letter issued by the Specialized Healthcare Department directed deputy commissioners in 12 districts to finalize all arrangements for the exam. The test will be conducted under the supervision of the University of Health Sciences (UHS).

More than 50,000 candidates have registered for this year’s MDCAT, which is the key entry exam for medical and dental colleges. Authorities have said that Rescue 1122, traffic police, and other law enforcement agencies will remain on high alert at examination centers to maintain smooth operations and ensure safety.

To uphold strict exam discipline, an application has also been submitted to the Home Department for the enforcement of Section 144 during the test. This move is intended to prevent unlawful gatherings or any external interference near the centers.

For transparency, senior faculty members are being assigned supervisory duties at each examination venue. Security clearance procedures are also underway for all exam staff to prevent any irregularities or malpractice during the process.

Officials noted that the UHS is working closely with local administrations in all 12 districts to streamline logistics, including traffic management and medical emergency support. The exam is expected to be held in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, and several other cities simultaneously.

The MDCAT remains one of the most competitive exams in Pakistan, determining the future of thousands of aspiring doctors and dentists. Authorities say maintaining credibility and fairness is their top priority.

Meanwhile, political and social debates continue to shape headlines across Punjab. Recently, Maryam Nawaz called for public apologies from critics of Punjab, highlighting how governance and education remain intertwined in the province’s public discussions.

With strict security and administrative measures in place, officials hope to conduct the MDCAT smoothly, giving candidates a fair chance to pursue their careers in medicine.
