MDCAT 2025 Official Date Announced Test Set for October 5

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially confirmed the date for the MDCAT 2025. The Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test will be held nationwide on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

This announcement was made during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, chaired by Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani. PMDC officials informed the committee that the MDCAT will be conducted on the same day across all provinces.

Along with the date, PMDC has also released the updated MDCAT 2025 curriculum. The test will cover five core subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning. According to PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj, these changes aim to modernize the assessment process and better evaluate students’ readiness for medical education.

The MDCAT 2025 will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates will be given three hours to complete the test. There will be no negative marking, which is a relief for many students. The questions will be distributed by difficulty — 15% easy, 70% moderate, and 15% difficult.

To pass the test, students applying for medical colleges must score at least 55% marks, while those applying to dental colleges need 50% marks. These thresholds remain unchanged from previous years.

PMDC has already started working on a fresh question bank for the exam. The new curriculum and question set are being developed with input from education boards, universities, and academic experts to ensure fairness and quality.

The MDCAT is a crucial step for students seeking admission into medical and dental colleges across Pakistan. PMDC recommends all candidates prepare according to the official syllabus and practice regularly to improve performance.

PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj shared that the new MDCAT 2025 curriculum has already been released. It includes five key subjects and was designed to reflect modern standards. PMDC Releases Revised MDCAT 2025 Syllabus for more details.
