May 9 Riots: Hassan Niazi Sentenced to 10 Years as Military Courts Convict 60 Additional Civilians

RAWALPINDI – The Field General Court Martial concluded sentencing 60 individuals involved in the May 9 riots, with all trials conducted under due process and legal rights upheld, as per the ISPR.

These sentences, following the Supreme Court’s guidelines, were issued after evidence review. Notable cases include Hassan Khan Niazi, sentenced to 10 years for his role in the Jinnah House incident. Sentences ranged from 2 to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for various offenses across multiple incidents.

The military affirmed all convicts have the right to appeal. Authorities remain committed to justice and maintaining the state’s writ.
