Matthew Perrys long-time assistant, Kenneth “Kenny” Iwamasa, has been identified as the person who administered the fatal dose of ketamine that led to the actor’s death on October 28, 2023, as revealed by law enforcement on Thursday.

During a press conference, US District Attorney Martin Estrada disclosed that Perry had relapsed into substance abuse in the fall, and the five individuals charged in connection with his death “exploited the situation for their own gain.”

Estrada explained that Dr. Salvador Plasencia collaborated with Iwamasa, who lived with Perry at his Los Angeles residence, to supply the actor with approximately 20 vials of ketamine over a two-month period.

A press release from the Department of Justice on Thursday stated that Iwamasa admitted to injecting Perry with ketamine multiple times, despite having no medical training, including “several injections” on the day of Perry’s death.

Iwamasa pleaded guilty on August 7 to a charge of conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death and now faces a 15-year prison sentence.

Iwamasa, who had worked for Perry for over 25 years, described himself on LinkedIn as someone who “thrives in chaotic situations that require order” and prides himself on being “discreet, loyal, and honoring absolute confidentiality.”

Along with Iwamasa, Dr. Plasencia and his associate, Dr. Mark Chavez, were arrested and charged, along with “Ketamine Queen” Jasveen Sangha and alleged street dealer Erik Fleming.

Authorities discovered a text message from Plasencia, an urgent care physician from Calabasas, California, that revealed a callous attitude towards Perry, with messages such as “I wonder how much this moron will pay” and “Let’s find out.”

Iwamasa was reportedly the one who found Perry deceased, face down in his hot tub, at his Pacific Palisades home in California last October.
