Mari Energies Limited (MARI) has announced a significant oil and gas discovery in Sindh at the Mari Ghazij CF-B1 well. The company shared the update in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday.
The Mari Ghazij CF-B1 well was spud-in on September 12, 2025, and successfully drilled to a total depth of 1,195 meters into the SUL formation. The well targeted oil-rich zones within the Ghazij formation.
During testing, the well produced 305 barrels of oil per day along with 3 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. The wellhead flowing pressure (WHFP) was recorded at 225 psi at a 48/64 inch choke size.
Mari Energies operates the country’s largest gas reservoir at Mari Gas Field in Daharki, Sindh, making it the second-largest natural gas producer in Pakistan. The company has an integrated approach to oil and gas exploration and production, with an impressive 70% exploration success rate. This is significantly higher than the national average of 33% and the international average of 14%.
Key customers of Mari Energies include fertilizer manufacturers, power generation companies, gas distribution firms, and refineries. The company’s latest discovery is expected to enhance its production capacity and strengthen its role in Pakistan’s energy sector.
