Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter in Punjab’s capital city’s Chung district, it was reported on Wednesday.

Chong police said the suspect had been sexually assaulting the teenage girl for a year, adding that the stepfather was arrested using state-of-the-art technology.
The sexual assault was discovered when the victim’s condition worsened and she was taken to the hospital, and when her mother questioned her, the 14-year-old admitted that she had been repeatedly raped by her stepfather.
Police have registered a case against suspect, identified as Saif Ali, at Chung police station on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.
The suspect has been handed over to the gender cell with SP Saddar Dr Gayyur Ahmed Khan stating that no leniency will be showed towards those involved in raping women and children
